Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. A selection of ski areas including Brevent, Flegere, Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme cater for all levels. Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines are all also within an easy drive.

Ski Touring

There are countless lifetimes worth of ski touring and ski mountaineering options - be it a half-day lift accessed option or a multi-day epic. The possibilities are only limited by your time and your objectives and of course if in doubt go with a guide!!! We would be happy to recommend some.

Ski & Snowboard

Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. There are also several dedicated low level beginner areas. For the more experienced, Chamonix has a vast amount of off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Winter Climbing

There are plenty of low level valley ice climbing venues from December-January, or there are higher mountain routes accessed via a combination of lifts and ski-touring which are usually in condition through the winter months. As above, if unsure of the conditions or the options, seek the professional help of a guide.
